Mission

I founded my own company to support a select group of authors who have a deep sense of mission and aim to make positive change–to society at large, within diverse communities and families, and inside the self. Whether it’s fiction or nonfiction, the books I represent shift perspectives, offer practical advice, ignite the imagination, and hopefully, inspire future generations.

Every literary agent’s primary mission is to find each author a publisher that is committed to bringing their work to the broadest readership. As part of that process, I negotiate strong contracts, which involve the highest value for an author’s work and as many protections as possible for their future. But how to get there? If I take an author on, we first work together to build an excellent nonfiction proposal, which is essential in today’s publishing environment. The editor has to “see” the book in order to buy it. For fiction, the chapters and outline must be strong for the editor and their team to commit. My company sets our authors up for a great selling and then publishing experience. Some agents sell an author’s project and move onto the next. I stay in the ring, working to advocate for my clients throughout the publishing process, from cover design to marketing and publicity. My hope is that each author will build their career with my company, and that we will have a long and fruitful relationship.
